My lovely Cousin

Adrian’s tribute
It has taken me a while to put pen to paper to write something about my lovely cousin. I was so shocked to hear the news and realise I will never see him again. But despite that the lovely memories I have of him will live on in me.
I have vivid memories of Birthday parties, firework night parties and Christmas parties which my Auntie organised for us. Adrian and I were close in age by a year. I am the eldest of the Cole grandchildren so Adrian and I spent much time together when we were little until he and his family moved up north to Knutsford. We kept in touch and saw each other occasionally. When Adrian was about 19 he moved back down to the London area so I saw a bit more of him again. Later after I got married and had my 3 children Adrian used to love to visit . My kids remember lots of fun with “Uncle” Adrian! Adrian was always the family representative at family events - celebrations, Christenings Weddings and family lunches. Adrian was always easy going, fun and great to be with. He had a wicked sense of humour too. He had a great love of cats and later in life watching bird life in his garden with his various bird boxes! He also loved all things electrical - wires, computers and telephones! I remember taking our Grandmother Cole to visit Adrian for afternoon tea in his flat in Forest Gate. It was quite an experience for Grandma for I am not sure what she expected his flat to look like but on the way home she said to me quietly - “ I am glad to have visited Adrian’s flat but I won’t be going again because there are too many electrical wires etc on the floor!” We had to step over what seemed like endless wires and cables which was tricky for her in her latter years!
Nevertheless he made us very welcome!
Adrian kept busy with his many hobbies and interests such as a school governor at a school local to me , involved in political matters, a local hospice and heart organisations.
He was a real gentleman and a gentle man in every way and he will be much missed by us all as a loyal family member , friend and supporter.
Goodbye cousin I will miss you but will never forget you!
